Creating short links

This guide covers how to create a short link with Mork, and what each option does.

Sharing with a short link

Shortening never makes the server visit the address you paste, and addresses pointing at private or reserved network ranges are refused.
Mork turns a long, unwieldy URL into a short one — short enough that someone can type it by hand.

The field names stay in English on purpose: they have to match what appears in your analytics reports, and translating them would break that.
Mork short links carry UTM parameters, so your campaign tracking keeps working through the redirect.

Everything here is optional and none of it needs an account, apart from the watermark. The password, the deadline and the view limit can be combined.
  • Password protection: visitors have to enter the right password before the link opens.
  • View limit: cap how many people can see the content. The same person opening it again is not counted twice, and once the limit is reached the link closes itself.
  • Expiry time: set a deadline. When it passes, the short link stops working.
  • Post: write a short note about what the link holds, so it is easy to find later.

Only the people you gave the password to can open the link.

Advanced: expiry and view limits

The count is people, not requests — the same visitor opening it again does not add to it. That is what makes a view limit behave like a real limit.
Once a short link expires it cannot be reused, however widely it was shared.
